Essential Functions
Teach Snowboarding
As needed, act in a supervisory capacity
Organize or assist with assignment of lessons
Motivate and encourage fellow instructors
Provide performance based feedback to staff in support of continuous improvement
Assist with Instructor training or mentoring when needed
Maintain Intermediate to Expert snowboarding abilities
Maintain a high level of customer service and ensure that Sunshine Ski & Snowboard School is presented in the best possible light
Attend ski school morning meetings and conduct morning meetings where needed
Be punctual to ski school lesson line ups and interact with students before lessons
Lead client/s and teach according to ability, age and stamina level
Assess clients snowboarding abilities and use proper terrain and lesson plans for effective learning
Tailor each lesson based on the assessment and the student’s goals and attend to special needs
Demonstrate basic maneuvers for your class
Provide a fun and interactive learning environment that will exceed any client’s goals/ expectations
Recognize changing snow conditions and understand how they may affect you approach
Maintain class control while out on the mountain and promote safety rules and regulations
Maintain a safe learning environment related to the clients, inclusive of all relevant Sunshine policies
Understand emergency procedures in case of accidents, including accident report completion
Adhere to the Alpine Responsibility Code at all times and ensure group participants are aware and adhere to the Code
Assist with Special Events when required
Own and maintain your own snowboard equipment as required for work purposes
Perform other duties as required (e.g. shoveling, snow fencing etc…)
Experience/Requirements
Level 4 CASI Certification or equivalent international certification.
Ability to assess and build plans for individuals
Should possess some relevant teaching or instructing experience
Willingness to personally improve and learn new skills
Must be able to work weekends and holidays

Responsibilities
- Support certified instructors in conducting ski or snowboard lessons for guests, both in individual and group settings.
- Assist students with mastering basic stances, movements, techniques, and safety protocols for winter sports at Snow Valley.
- Perform on-snow demonstrations to showcase proper techniques.
- Provide guided instruction and coaching to students.
- Practice effective class management and organization as directed by Snow School Management.
- Participate in required pre-season meetings and training sessions.
- Commit to working on Saturdays and Sundays from January to February, with additional opportunities during December's holiday camps and March Break.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 14 years at the start of the employment period.
- Completion of at least 52 hours of on-hill training as part of the workday.
- Participation in at least 6 learning sessions (1-hour long drop-in training opportunities) offered to Hockley Valley Resort employees.
- Maintain a positive evaluation throughout the season and achieve a positive performance review at the end of the season.
- Commit to 8 consecutive weeks (preferably on Saturdays and Sundays).
- Attend mandatory pre-season meeting in November and on-snow training day in December.
- Possess personal ski or snowboard equipment and helmet.
- Demonstrate confidence and control as a skier/rider on blue terrain and all surface lifts and chair lifts.
Compensation
- Paid hourly wage minus an administration fee for training and development.
- Daily training to prepare for Level 1 certification through CSIA or CASI (training fee deducted at source).
- Loaned uniform jacket for the season.
- Season pass for resort access.
Working
Conditions
- Be able to work outside in the elements for extended periods of time
- Will be required to stand for long periods of time
- Must be physically capable of meeting the demands of Snow Sports training and drills
- Health and Safety Hazards

Hockley Valley Resort's Rental Shop is an integral part of

Responsibilities
As a Rental Shop Technician, your main responsibility will
be to provide our guests with premier rental equipment and ensure they have a
rewarding, enjoyable, and entertaining experience during their stay. Your
duties will include:
Customer Service
• Establish
rapport with customers and build their confidence by providing exceptional
service.
• Accurately
and knowledgeably describe and promote rental services tailored to customers'
specific needs.
• Encourage
customers to opt for the damage waiver on rental equipment products.
Rental Equipment Management
• Maintain
all company paperwork in accordance with policies and standards, ensuring 100%
accuracy.
• Inspect,
clean, and maintain rental equipment to ensure it is in top condition for
guests' use.
• Collaborate
with the team to organize and manage rental inventory efficiently.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, the following qualifications are
necessary.
• Customer-Focused:
A strong commitment to providing excellent customer service and creating
positive guest experiences.
• Mechanical
Aptitude: A general understanding and ability to handle mechanical operations,
small and medium tools, and equipment repair.
• Retail/Rental
Experience: While prior experience in retail or rental services is preferred,
it is not a strict requirement for consideration.
• Ski/Snowboard
or Bicycle Experience: Previous experience in ski/snowboard sales or rental, or
bicycle sales or rental is advantageous.

Summary
As the Rental Shop Coordinator, you
will be responsible for providing leadership, training, and guidance to the
staff working in the rental and tech shop. This role involves both indoor and
outdoor duties, ensuring the smooth functioning of the facility and delivering
exceptional customer service. You will oversee rental and repair services for
bikes, skis, and snowboards, while also handling administrative tasks related
to staff management and facility maintenance.
Responsibilities
Staff Management
• Hire
and train rental technicians, ski/snowboard technicians, and bike technicians.
• Assist
in creating staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage.
• Assist
in managing accurate and timely payroll processing.
Facility Maintenance
• Maintain
a clean, safe, and organized facility both indoors and outdoors.
• Oversee
bike repair, building, diagnostics, and maintenance.
• Handle
bike-related retail sales and maintain a minimum level of service parts.
• Pay
attention to detail when addressing customer requests.
• Ensure
a tidy and organized workspace.
Rental Fleet Management
• Maintain
a large ski, snowboard, and bike rental fleet.
• Perform
ski & snowboard tuning, repair, binding mounting, and waxing.
• Operate
and maintain ski tuner equipment.
• Handle
snowshoe repair when necessary.
Time Management and Customer Service
• Work
independently, prioritize tasks, and multitask to meet challenging deadlines.
• Provide
excellent customer service by engaging with customers, asking the right
questions, and offering suitable solutions.
Communication and Reporting
• Maintain
maintenance logs for equipment and facilities.
• Ensure
proper communication with the department manager and staff.
• Report
any issues or concerns promptly.
Additional Responsibilities
• Undertake
any other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the rental
shop.
Requirements
Experience and Skills
• Experience
as a bike mechanic and ski/snowboard technician is an asset.
• Excellent
customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both
verbally and in writing.
Availability
• Must
be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Transportation:
• Must
have a reliable source of transportation to commute to the workplace.
Team Player
• Ability
to work well with others and foster a positive team environment.
• Previous
experience in a supervisory role is an asset.
