TRAINER UPDATE

Who Should Take This Course?

  • CASI Level 2, 3 or 4 members who are either a) not certified Evaluators, or b) Evaluators not planning to teach courses this year.

  • Senior snowboard instructors at resorts who are responsible for delivering training to other instructors, delivering GAP-style traning programs.

Description:

The Trainer Update day will provide CASI members with an overview of Level 1 and 2 course content and standards. These days are intended to be an info-only day spent on snow and are targeted at those who are trainers at resorts, delivering course-prep or technical training, and past or lapsed CASI Evaluators who are not planning to teach courses this season. 

Pre-Requisite:

  • Level 2 Instructor

CADS UPDATE

Who Should Take This Course?

  • CASI Level 2, 3 or 4 members who are interested in adaptive snowboard concepts, equipment and resources to create an inclusive teaching environment at their Snowschools

Description: 

This single-day program following the Evaluator Training to provide CASI members with practical tools and tactics to create inclusive and successful lessons for people with adaptive needs - particularly those with Autism and related challenges. This will include strategies for assessing needs and abilities, as well as strategies for addressing behavioural challenges. Participants will find relevant information to take and share with the instructors at their resorts.

Pre-Requisite: 

  • CASI Level 2 Instructor

Course Duration: 1 day

Do I have to be an Instructor first before taking the Park Instructor 1 course?

Yes, you'll need to be a minimum Level 1 instructor.

How good do I have to be to pass the Park course?

The Park Instructor Level 1 course is aimed at giving you tools to take students into the park for the first time safely. You won't be hitting the big lines, but will be focusing on basic skills on the small features, and improving your teaching skills.
