About Us
WELCOME TO THE CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTORS
The Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors (CASI) was formed in 1994 and incorporated in 1995 and is currently incorporated under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act. It is the professional snowboard teaching body in Canada with its Head Office located in Collingwood, Ontario.

BECOMING A MEMBER OF CASI
People who wish to become members of CASI must attend and pass a Level 1 Instructor certification course, which are held at various locations across Canada each winter. Upon becoming a member, each person will receive the latest information on technique and teaching methods via regular newsletters and clinics.

CASI CERTIFICATION COURSES
CASI certification is comprised of four levels. Level 1 is an introductory course designed to teach Instructors how to introduce snowboarding to beginning riders. Level 2 stresses more the intermediate level of riding skills. The Level 3 focuses on the advanced, and the Level 4 focuses on expert riding techniques, teaching and training skills.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTORS

CASI is divided into 6 regions: British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba/Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic. Each region has a Regional Coordinator to address regional concerns and administer our Level 1 Courses.
In addition, there is a National Technical Team to assist in the technical operation of CASI. The "Tech Team" is made up of 5 - 7 team members and is coached by our National Technical Coordinator (NTC) and Technical Assistant (TA). The purpose of the Tech Team is to make decisions regarding course content, manual content, and technical doctrine and to make those recommendations to the Board of Directors for approval. The NTC also attends Board meetings representing the Tech Team, as a non-voting member.
