The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Program Manager for our programs and courses in the Ontario / Manitoba / Saskatchewan region to fulfill a year-round role.

This position requires a high level of administrative and organizational skills, finely tuned communication abilities, and extensive experience specific to the CASI system or snowboard instructor training programs in general.

Reporting to the Director of Program Operations, the Program Manager will provide regional management and organization of snowboard instructor certification and training programs in the region. This includes the scheduling of courses, hiring of qualified Evaluators, liaising with resort partners, tracking course inventory, and reporting on course participation. The role encompasses a wide range of tasks including: planning & scheduling, administrative, communication / reporting, financial, industry development and operations (see JOB DESCRIPTION – PROGRAM MANAGER, appendix “A”). This position allows for flexibility in work schedule, and during peak times of the season involves an average of 30-35 hours per week, with seasonal fluctuations in weekly hours. Off season tasks may vary based on special projects and operational requirements.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work to serve the resorts in their region by providing a full schedule of CASI programs;
  • Coordinate the efficient communication and hiring of qualified Evaluators to deliver courses and programs;
  • Manage logistically-demanding program and course procedures including scheduling, communications, hiring, expense and invoice processing, participant tracking and inventory;
  • Provide accurate reporting on course and program participation numbers. 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Current CASI member;
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian snow resort system, and ability to work with key resort contacts in coordinating CASI programs and events;
  • Comfort working across multiple technical communication and production platforms, including email and teleconference, as well as other software platforms (i.e.: Zoom, Google Drive, Microsoft Office);
  • Comfortable working in a flexible schedule and environment – hours and schedule will vary depending on program schedule and seasonal demands;
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills, as well as a strong sense of commitment and accountability;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

The following skills and attributes are considered an asset in this role:

  • Relevant industry experience teaching recreational snowboarding and/or skiing;
  • Extensive experience as a CASI course Evaluator;
  • Experience setting up and running a small office, budget planning and projections, as well as experience with inventory tracking, shipping/receiving and reporting;
  • Previous experience hiring employees and/or contractors, processing invoice and expense reports.


Compensation & Application Process

The salary range for this position is $58,000 to $63,000 (based on a weekly average of 30 hours) and also includes support for home office and communications equipment (cell phone, etc.) as well as access to CASI’s employee benefits plan.
