CASI developed the Instructor Training Program a number of years ago to help resorts “grow their own” snow school instructing staff. The ITP is targeted at those riders 13 to 15 years of age, and interested in becoming snowboard instructors. It is designed to help resorts develop their own instructors and by having candidates participate in the program, they would be better prepared for taking their Level 1 certification. The program also supports the resorts by providing assistance to snowboarding pros teaching new beginner lessons and reducing the student-to-instructor ratio, thus increasing their customer satisfaction and new rider retention levels in our sport.

This program is based strictly on participation. Each participant should attend all the training sessions prescribed in the program outline attached to successfully complete the program. The resorts may structure the 12-hour program to fit their needs, i.e., all in one weekend, or perhaps 2 hours on any day for 6 weeks, etc.

Each resort may charge whatever they feel necessary to cover the cost for their staff teaching the program (they must be a CASI Level 1 Evaluator) and other expenses.

Note:  As this is not a CASI Instructor Certification Course, and no membership in CASI is implied. Successful participants are not qualified to teach snowboarding by themselves and are not covered under CASI's insurance policy.  Resorts using these participants must insure them under their own resort's insurance policy.

If you are a resort who doesn't have a Level 1 CASI Evaluator, we'll provide one for you at a cost of $150.00 (plus taxes) per person.  Level 1 Evaluators would be provided and coordinated through your Regional Coordinators (minimum 4, maximum 8 participants per evaluator)
